Once you have written your script you must
create a subdirectory called scripts in your directory on the server, and place your
script there. Your scripts will not be instantly executable as the permission must be set
up. To do this email a request to E2 HELP
A common problem with scripts is the path with which you call them - please check the E2
support pages - www.e2.u-net.com , for
more information on scripts and their usage. Scripts are the customers responsibility and
you must have thoroughly tested them in your local environment before asking us to make
them executable. Perl is available for both the PC and Macintosh
We ask that your scripts are written in Perl (practical extraction and report language).
There are many Perl resources available on the web. We do not support C as we do not give
the Telnet access to the server that would be required for compilation. Telnet access is
denied because it can lead to users developing scripts on the server and hence potentially
crashing it to the detriment of other users, and may also pose a security risk to other
sites. Three scripts are currently provided for customers use. They are form to email,
email and counter. We also provide configurable scripts to for counters (domained
customers only), guestbooks and simple searches.
Our servers are also fully Javascript compatible.
